Austin (by way of Ireland) songwriter Pat Byrne’s latest LP, “Into the Light” melds two musical cultures known for introspective lyricism and raw, from-the-heart emotion. The 11 tracks, recorded at the Sound Emporium studio in Nashville and released in July 2021, take the listener on an emotional journey with lyrics both touching and agonizing—heightened by Byrne’s dynamic vocal style.    

The Irish singer-songwriter migrated to Austin, Texas in late 2017. Immersed in the Texas music scene, Byrne released his first independent album, Rituals, in October 2018. In 2019, Byrne's breakout performances included the 30A Festival, SWSX, Kerrville Folk Festival, and the Americana Festival. Along came 2020 and live shows disappeared. Pat took full advantage and began work on “Into The Light” and launched his Wednesday livestream, now a residency at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck’s Live from Norfolk Street.
